Security Settings

User Accounts

Skyvia allows you to configure user accounts and passwords in order to allow access to the exposed data only for authenticated users. Skyvia supports HTTP basic authentication with user name and password. It does not support privileges and customizing access rights for different exposed object. If you need different users to be able to access different sets of data, you can create different endpoints, exposing these sets of data.

note Note

If you don't specify any users, the endpoint data will be publicly available to anyone without authentication.

To manage users for the endpoint, open the endpoint for editing and click Users. The Users dialog box will open.

To add a user, click +Add, then enter the user name and password.

To delete a user, click the btn-delete button for the user you want to delete.

To modify a user simply edit his username and password.

After you finished configuring user accounts for the endpoint, click Save in the Users dialog box.

IP Addresses

Skyvia allows you to limit the IP addresses, from which the data of the endpoint can be accessed. You can specify one or more allowed IP address ranges.

note Note

If you don't specify any IP address ranges, the endpoint data will be available from any IP.

To manage IP addresses for the endpoint, open the endpoint for editing and click IP Addresses. The IP Address dialog box will open.

To add a range of IP addresses, click +Add, then enter the meaningful range name and the start and end IP addresses of the range. Access from each of the IP addresses within the range will be allowed. To specify a single IP address enter the same address for start and end addresses.

To delete a range of IP addresses, click the btn-delete button for the range you want to delete.

After you finished configuring IP addresses for the endpoint, click Save in the IP Addresses dialog box.
