Copying Slack data to PostgreSQL cannot be simpler. You just need to perform the following three simple steps.
Specify necessary connection parameters for Slack.
Specify necessary connection parameters for PostgreSQL.
Skyvia supports secure connections to PostgreSQL.
Select Slack objects to replicate.
Just select check boxes in a list of Slack objects (e.g. Channels, Notifications, etc.). If necessary, you can tweak it in more details - replicate only part of Slack fields and filter data to replicate.
You don't need to prepare the PostgreSQL database - Skyvia creates the tables corresponding to the Slack objects - Channels, Notifications, etc. - automatically.
Skyvia can more than just create a copy of the Slack data in PostgreSQL - it can keep this copy in an up-to-date state automatically. All you need is to configure a schedule when to update the PostgreSQL replica database.
When updating the data copy in the PostgreSQL database, Skyvia does not perform full data copying each time. It retrieves only updated data from Slack and writes only necessary updates to the PostgreSQL database.
With Skyvia you can copy all the data from a Slack object or disable replication for some Slack object fields. You can also configure filters for data to replicate.
